1000 Yard Swim

The 1000 yard swim is a splash and dash compared to the 1 and 3 mile races. The 1000 yard course is an approximate distance of a loop around Treasure Island in the Los Alamitos Bay. The race begins and ends on the beach between the sailing docks. Swimmers head out from the beach towards the entrance to the Rivo Alto Canal. At the mouth of the canal swimmers will make a hard left to make a counter-clockwise loop around Treasure Island. Once out of the canal and back into the bay is a dash to the finish between the two sailing docks.

The course is set by existing landmarks. Buoys are for sighting only and there will be minimal directional aid during the race. It is advised that competitors become familiar with the course map, which will also be posted at registration.
