1 Mile Swim

The 1 mile swim race course is an approximate distance. The race begins at the northwest side of the US Sailing Center between the pier and the small swim area.

Competitors head straight out into the bay past the end of Treasure Island (the small triangular shaped island). Then they make a left turn into the Rivo Alto Canal for a counter-clockwise loop. Swimmers make headway towards Treasure Island where they will make a right turn to end up back in the Los Alamitos Bay. A left turn after exiting the canals will take the swimmer to the finish.

The course is set by existing landmarks. Buoys are for sighting only and there will be minimal directional aid during the race. It is advised that competitors become familiar with the course map, which will also be posted at registration.
